If you want to get the most out of your photography session, it's important to be prepared going in. Here are 10 tips to make sure you look and feel your best for your upcoming session!
1) Get your beauty sleep
Want to look your best? Be sure to get a great night's rest before your session. Your eyes will be less puffy and your complexion will have a healthier glow, among other things. You'll also feel amazing and be ready to rock your session!
2) Pack your bags
Gather and prep your wardrobe at least a day before your session. This will allow you time to grab anything you may have forgotten and you'll be so much more relaxed on the day of your actual session!
3) Skin prep
Healthy skin photographs well! I recommend using a moisturizer anywhere skin will be showing. Think about your wardrobe choices and make sure everything is covered!
It's also helpful to stay hydrated before your session. This can help prevent flaky lips!
4) Nails
It's all in the details. For flawless photographs, make sure your nails are either freshly polished, or polish-free and well manicured.
If your feet will be showing, don't forget about your toes! This is a small detail that will really make a difference.
5) Wardrobe Fit
Double check the fit of your wardrobe. If you plan on dancing during your session, you'll want to make sure that you are able to freely move in your wardrobe without any costume malfunctions.
6) Steam and Iron
I know it seems like a step you can skip but it makes a HUGE difference when your wardrobe is ironed or steamed before your session. Try to bring your wardrobe on hangers instead of stuffing it all in a bag.
7) Playlist
Music makes everything better. I highly encourage you to create a playlist of songs that make you feel your most confident! The mood you're in will set the tone of your photographs.
8) Show up with a clean face and hair
When you have a session with me, I provide full hair and makeup styling so all you need to do is relax. In this case, I'd request that you arrive at your session with a clean face and clean hair.

9) Leave room for "oops"
Getting a new hair cut or color? Spray tan? Waiting on a wardrobe piece that you're not sure about?
The point is, leave time for the "oops" moments. They happen, so try your best to not to leave things until the last minute and give yourself time to recover if things don't go according to plan.
10) Get hyped!
Photo sessions are SO. MUCH. FUN. So get excited and get ready to have an amazing time! If you have any questions or concerns at all, don't be afraid to reach out to your photographer!
