I was absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to have a session with Jackie! She used to be a student at Premiere Dance Center so I’ve photographed her several times in the past, but this time the session was for her senior portraits!
For her makeup, Jackie wanted a Glossier inspired look focused on her lashes, brows, and light flushes of color. I applied just a touch of foundation to ensure that her freckles weren’t lost and applied some individual false lashes to enhance her already beautiful lash line. Her hair is natural pretty curly so I used some product to give it more definition and then used a curling iron to lightly touch things up.
When planning for her session, Jackie expressed that she wanted a versatile and urban location so I immediately suggested the Seattle Center. It’s got so many different textures and settings to play with and if you go at sunrise, things are nice and quiet. The weather was perfect and we arrived just as the sun was rising so we had some really beautiful light to work with.
Jackie wanted a mix of close up portraits, full body shots, and images that shined light on her love of dance. With such a versatile location and great wardrobe variety, we were able to capture a wide range of looks during our session. A strong sense of adventure was also integral to the outcome of this session. We laid in fountains, stood in bushes, and climbed on everything we could find to create something unique and beautiful.
I’m so happy with how Jackie’s images turned out so I was really excited when she chose to order an heirloom album. She opted for a luxe leather cover in Chai, a creamy tone that could compliment any surface, and all of her favorite images. It turned out so beautifully and I’m so glad she has it to share with future generations!
