The falling leaves have reminded me that I forgot to blog one of my favorite sessions from last year. I was so thrilled when the Imamura family reached out to have me take their family portraits last fall. Their oldest daughter Mia is one of my soloists at Premiere Dance Center and they are one of the most wonderful and supportive families I have ever met. The Imamuras wanted an outdoor session that highlighted their family against the beautiful colors of the Pacific Northwest autumn and, as you can see, Mother Nature delivered!
We chose Bothell Landing Park for our location in order to take advantage of the autumn leaves and we lucked out with absolutely beautiful weather. The sunset was absolutely epic and the blue hour that followed was cool and calm. The air was crisp so we did our best to stay bundled and cozy for the session.
Family sessions are always such a wonderful experience so I almost always leave smiling, and this session with no exception. The love between the Imamura family is palpable and it showed in their final images. I strongly feel that while posed photographs are great, lifestyle images that show your family interacting in a natural way hold the highest emotional impact. I want you to smile every time you look at your family portraits because you can’t help but remember how much fun you have together.
We played games, snuggled on blankets, and sang lots of Baby Shark to keep little Ava smiling and happy (doo doo dooooo!). All in all, we had a an excellent day and I’m so happy that I was able to capture such love-filled moments with the Imamura family. Life moves so fast and it’s important to capture our milestones so they can be treasured forever. I created a coffee table book along with three beautiful pieces of wall art for the Imamuras so they can enjoy their family memories each and every day!
Huge shoutout to my assistant Laura for always making my day easier! 💕
This session was shot on a Canon 5D Mkiii using a Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8 and a Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8 lens. Images were color corrected in Adobe Lightroom and retouched in Adobe Photoshop using a Wacom Intuos Pro tablet.
